Faculty of Science Bursary

Support the Faculty of Science bursary, and help students with financial burdens.

Help UBC Science students succeed

UBC Science students have talent, drive and curiosity. They have the potential to make new discoveries, shift paradigms, start companies, and even spark new industries. Unfortunately, they don’t all have the financial means to complete their education—an essential step to realizing their potential. Since the establishment of this bursary, more than 270 UBC Science students have received this bursary, thanks to donors like you.

Bursaries help students with unmet financial needs. Student loans and summer jobs do not always cover the cost of living, books and tuition. For many students, bursaries are the only way they can achieve their academic goals. Bursaries are particularly needed to ensure that students from a wide range of backgrounds are able to attend university, and gain the scientific and technical skills that Canada’s economy urgently needs.

Daniel, a recent recipient of the bursary, says: “The Faculty of Science Bursary has made a big difference for me in my studies. I was able to relieve some of the financial stress associated with school and focus my attention on my studies. I am very grateful that I can put this towards my education—knowledge is priceless.”

Your support of the Faculty of Science Bursary will help ensure that finances are not a barrier to the success of our students.
